David Fleays Wildlife Park – Water Quality Restoration Project
The project was undertaken for the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service. The park required a comprehensive strategy to ensure ongoing water quality and environmental health for habitat ponds and adjacent waterways whilst providing a highly attractive landscape.

Bundamba Creek Urban Wetland – Creek Rehabilitation
Bundamba Creek Urban Wetland Restoration Project is an example of an innovative approach to ecological restoration and construction. A bio-engineered approach was taken with a desire to naturalise the stream alignment below an existing concrete weir structure. The project was highly successful! Revegetation Works North Pine Dam “Heathwoods”
Heathwoods has been nominated as a koala habitat enhancement site by Seqwater as part of the Koala Nature Refuge Agreement with DERM. An area of 14 ha has been planted with canopy tree species from the existing regional ecosystems.
Palmview Sanctuary
Australian Wetlands have been engaged as a revegetation specialist contractor to protect and enhance the ecological values of the site, enhance the quality of conserved vegetation, and undertake offset planting to recreate endemic regional ecosystems to the areas removed during development works.
Bells Reach Drain Planting
Bells Reach is a new Stockland residential development located near Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast. As part of the earthworks contract awarded to Shadforths Civil, Australian Wetlands was engaged to undertake the mass planting of the drains associated with the development.
Ridges Peregian Springs Conservation Areas
Ridges Peregian Springs is a new FKP residential development located West of Peregian Beach, just South of Noosa on the Sunshine Coast. Australian Wetlands was engaged by FKP through AECOM to undertake the weed control and revegetation works associated with the development.
Chancellor Park Lakes 6, 7 & 8
Australian Wetlands was engaged by Sunshine Coast Regional Council to undertake the rectification works on lakes 6, 7 and 8 at Chancellor Park. The lakes required weed control and revegetation. Approximately 30,000 140mm plants were installed and maintained in an ongoing capacity.
Coolum STP Wetland Trial
Australian Wetlands in partnership with AWC, SEMF and Donnan are constructing reed beds to determine the potential role that constructed wetlands could play in Unity Water’s Integrated Water Cycle strategy for the Sunshine Coast Region.
Bruce Highway Upgrade, Cooroy to Curra
In collaboration with Synergy, Abigroup, GHD and DTMR Australian Wetlands are implementing the Cooroy to Curra rehabilitation strategy along the 7km alignment.
